SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER

DetailsTravel to Head Office or any other such place of work within a 20-mile radius. Working from home option will become available.

General Purpose

Reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain, you will focus heavily on critically analysing and interpreting sales trends. You will prepare forecasts of stock requirements for all markets, with particular emphasis on the timing and requirements of international customers.

You will manage the order-to-delivery process for cross-trade orders with emphasis on lead times, documentation, and customer specific requirements, working closely with suppliers, as well as internal departments.

You will monitor inventory levels and arrange stock replenishment across multiple locations worldwide and manage changing demand in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare advance order schedules and work closely with suppliers on manufacturing requirements and timings.

Working in a small but vitally important team, establishing effective relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues will be important to your success.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

Analyse sales data and prepare sales trends

  • Prepare sales and inventory data analysis by month.
  • Compare and analyse previous months sales to forecast and present sales trends at forecasting meetings.
  • For key customers, produce monthly trends by item, quantity, and value.
  • For initial 12 months following launch of new products through NPD, track sales and share at forecasting meetings.
  • Co-ordinate quarterly range review by product group presenting annual data by volume and value for packaging.
  • Flag any potential supply or stock issues which will affect customer orders.
  • Arrange sufficient stock for weekly and monthly promotions across D2C and B2B channels.
  • Escalate any unexpected increases or declines in customer forecasts.
  • Enter purchase orders on ERP system and Manage lead-times with suppliers. Expedite outstanding purchase orders with vendors where required.

Interpret sales trends and market demand and prepare forward forecasts for all channels

  • Obtain input to forward forecasts from sales, web, and marketing team during forecasting meetings.
  • Interpret sales trend analysis and changes to demand.
  • Using sales trend analysis, prepare accurate monthly purchasing forecasts for all packaging across all channels and markets.
  • Using sales trend analysis and consumption, produce monthly packaging and merchandise forecasts for all non-perishable items.

Manage packaging stock levels at multiple locations in accordance with fluctuating demand

  • Monitor and manage stock levels of packaging across multiple supplier locations using re-order points/quantities set within the ERP system.
  • Place purchase orders with packaging suppliers, carefully negotiating the pricing, and enter orders using the ERP system.
  • Use packaging stock reports received from suppliers to analyse counts and challenge suppliers where data is uncertain.
  • Update packaging stock levels on ERP system every month.

Manage cross trade order process and arrange replenishment stock orders from non-EU suppliers

  • Place cross-trade orders with suppliers, manage lead-times and customer specific product requirements.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and internal customer service team on the individual documentation requirements for all cross-trade orders.
  • Manage customer’s packaging stock at supplier location based on rolling monthly sales and alert packaging stock replenishment to customer service team.
  • Using stock reports and rolling forecast, confirm replenishment orders to worldwide stock locations ensuring adequate stock cover.
  • Manage cross dock and direct loads into the EU, liaise with sales, Export Customer Service and Planning departments to maximise loads and achieve target lead times.

Communicate effectively with suppliers in arranging Fish4Dogs planning requirements and improve supplier performance

  • Prepare advance order schedules for complimentary suppliers based outside EU to enable them to plan their forward activities.
  • Actively contribute to supplier meetings in the planning area.
  • Report vendor non-conformances to suppliers, accurately recording in the ERP system and follow through to root cause and corrective action.
  • Manage process for implementing new products and ranges with suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly vendor non-conformance analysis for regular internal review meetings.

Miscellaneous activities

    • Prepare, update, and circulate meeting minutes as required.
    • Assist in the implementation of projects and reports as required.
    • Create and maintain documented supply chain processes.
    • Enforce company policies and procedures.
    • Continuous improvement strategies.
    • To commit to the continued development, sustainment, and improvement of the organisation’s Quality Management System, and any future management systems that the company may decide to implement.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree Educated (or equivalent) [desierable]
  • Minimum intermediate Excel skills are essential
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience of planning and stock management in a similar industry and environment
  • Knowledge of SAPB1 [desierable]
  • Microsoft Office 365 experience [desierable]
